Material Selection & Preparation – We choose high-quality used skateboard decks and reinforce them with a special hardener to ensure longevity.
Cutting & Shaping – We begin by cutting the inner hole of the ring and then hand-polish the interior to achieve the exact size requested.
Forming the Ring – The ring is then cut to the desired thickness and shaped through detailed hand-sanding, resulting in a sleek and smooth finish.
Edge Finishing – To maximize comfort and enhance aesthetics, both the outer and inner edges undergo a two-step sanding process.
Lacquering & Polishing – Before applying the first layer of lacquer, we reinforce the ring again with a hardener. The piece is then coated with two layers of high-quality lacquer, a meticulous process that takes approximately 12 hours.
Final Touches – Once dry, each ring is hand-polished to perfection, and a protective layer is added to improve water resistance and durability for everyday wear.
The result is a beautiful, durable wooden ring that reflects the spirit of skateboarding culture. Every groove and every color tells a story—a past life of motion and expression, now reborn as a timeless piece of art, ready to be worn and cherished for years to come.
When it comes to wooden rings made from other types of wood, we love to incorporate the bentwood technique. This method involves bending wood veneer or wood shavings around a mold to achieve the ordered ring size. We apply a special glue mixed with a wood hardener between each layer, ensuring maximum strength. Most bentwood rings consist of three thin layers, making them incredibly durable—comparable even to metal rings!
We also offer combination rings that merge wooden veneers with recycled skateboard wood, creating an extra-durable and unique hybrid design. After bending the wood, just like in skateboard-based rings, we proceed with forming, lacquering, and polishing. The rest of the process remains the same for every wooden ring, including those that blend wood with metal elements for a striking and resilient final piece.
